Joseph John Rawley, died 1897

Joseph John Rawley was a 'Wine and Spirit Merchant'. On 15 September 1882 - at which time he was living at St George Street in London - he registered a patent for 'Improvements in stopper-bottles, jars and similar receptacles'.

At the time of the 1891 census he was living at Mount Lodge, Rutland Road, Eastbourne. Also present on the night of the census were his wife Ann, daughters Mabel and Edith, a niece and three servants. He gave 'London S Pancras' as his place of birth and for profession he gave 'Brewer'.

He died on Barcombe near Lewes on 17 May 1897, aged 56.
