These are probably Georgina Adelaide Elwes (1840-1924) and Edith Charlotte Elwes, the two eldest daughters of George Cary Elwes (1806-1859). The 1851 census shows the family living at 10 Eaton Place in London. George Elwes gave 'Fundholder (MA Oxford)' as his profession.
Georgina married Edmund Henry Chapman in 1862. The couple had six children.
Edith never married. She died on 25 January 1929 at 130 Ebury Street in London. She left an estate valued at £13,144.
Photographed in London on 31 May 1861 by Camille Silvy.
