John Blizard, formerly a schoolmaster (1861 census) appears on the 1871 census as a master photographer employing one boy and two girls. He and his family lived at 52 East Street in Taunton, presumably above the studio. His wife Sarah also gave 'Photographer' as her profession and daughter Annie, aged 20, was a 'Photographic Colourist'.
