The sitter is identified by a pencilled inscription on the album page. The album was compiled by Anna Maria Louise Barnewall, daughter of Lord Trimleston.

This is possibly Lord Charles Frederick Augustus de Vere Beauclerk (1836-1882), a grandson of the 5th Duke of St Albans.
