Photographed by Paul Famin of Algiers, identified recto in the lower margin and by the studio’s backplate on the reverse of the mount.

According to Michel Mégnin’s La photo-carte en Algérie au XIXe siècle, Famin took over the studio Richan-Clavier around 1865 and remained in business until around 1895.
