Harry Lawless Nicholson, died 1869

The grave in the foreground is that of Harry Lawless Nicholson, son of Lieutenant-Colonel Nicholson, who died in 1869 at the age of 6. The death of Henry Lawless Nicholson was registered at Lewes in the July quarter of 1869.

The grave behind it is that of Joseph Mercer Johnston of Lewes, who died on 11 October 1866, aged 49.

Joseph Johnston appears on the 1861 census, living on the High Street in Lewes. By trade he was a 'provisions merchant'.
