Lieutenant Hon. Charles North

A carte-de-visite portrait of Lieutenant the Honourable Charles North (1840-1871) of the Rifle Brigade.

Born on 29 December 1840, Hon. Charles North was the son of Francis North, from 1827 the 6th Earl of Guildfor, and his wife, Harriet née Warde. On 26 April 1865 he married Amy Louisa Maine, daughter of Reverend J. T. Maine.

Lt. Hon. Charles North gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Rifle Brigade. He died on 10 November 1871 at the age of 30, without issue.
