Princess Pauline Metternich and her daughter

orn in Vienna on 25 February 1836, Pauline Sándor married her uncle (actually, her mother's half-brother) Prince Richard Metternich-Winneburg in 1856. The first of their three daughters was born on 17 May 1858 in Dresden, where the Prince had been sent as the Austrian envoy to the court of Saxony. The following year (1859) he was appointed Austrian ambassador to France. The couple returned to Vienna in 1870. They both died there, the Prince in 1895, Princess Pauline on 18 September 1921.
