G. Boyle

An inked inscription verso in a period hand identifies the sitter as 'G. Boyle' and gives the date, 13 August 1869.

Born in Wincanton in 1824, at the time of the 1861 census Goodfellow was working as an 'Draper's Assistant.' By 1871 he had become a photographer, a profession he followed until his death in 1906.
