Victoria Embankment

Running from the Palace of Westminster to Blackfriars Bridge along the north bank of the Thames, the road was designed by civil engineer Francis Webb Sheilds. Construction begain in 1865 and was completed in 1870 under the direction of Joseph Bazalgette.
