Anthony Lefroy M.P.

The following paragraph is his obituary from the The Times, Wednesday, 15 January 1890:

'Our columns yesterday recorded the death of Mr Anthony Lefroy, of Carriglass Manor, county Longford, which happened on Sunday at his residence in Ireland; he was in the 90th year of his age. He was the eldest son of the late Right Hon. Thomas Lefroy, many years M.P. for the University of Dublin, and afterwards Chief Justice of the Court of Queen's Bench in Ireland, by his marriage with Mary, only daughter of Mr Jeffrey Paul, of Silverspring, county Wexford, and was born in the year 1800. He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, where he took the usual degrees, and sat as one of the members for county Longford from 1830 to 1837 and again from 1841 to 1847. From 1858 to 1870 he was one of the representatives of the University of Dublin, as his father had been before him. He was also a magistrate and deputy lieutenant for his native county, and served as high sheriff in 1849. Mr Lefroy married, in 1821, the Hon. Jane King, daughter of the late Lord Lorton, by whom he had two daughters, the elder married to Mr Carrick Buchanan and the other to the late Hon. William Leopold Talbot (brother of the late Lord Talbot de Malahide). '
