General von Moltke

A carte-de-visite portrait of Helmut Carl Bernhard, Count von Moltke (1800-1891), Prussian general.

He became chief of the general staff in 1857 and was responsible for the Prussian strategy in the wars with Denmark (1863-1864), Austria (1866) and France (1870-1871).
