Jonathan Cooper Coverdale, died 1879

Although his gravestone records his name as John Cooper Coverdale, he was in fact born Jonathan Cooper Coverdale and his death was registered under that name in the district of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. He was christened at Pickering in North Yorkshire on 17 March 1858, the son of Jonathan Cooper Coverdale and his wife Maria. He appears on the 1871 census, a thirteen-year-old 'scholar' living with his parents at Pickering. His father was a 'Gardener'. He had three younger brothers - Robert, William and David - and a younger sister, Annie Maria.

He died on 21 September 1879, aged 21.
