Kostaki Musurus Bey

His Excellency Constantine Musurus Bey (1807-1891), sometimes called Kostaki Musurus Pasha, was appointed Turkish ambassador to the Court of St James in 1851. His diplomatic career began in 1848. He had previously represented the Sultan at Vienna in 1848 and served as Governor of Samos and Minister at Athens.

He appears on the 1861 census, living at 1 Bryanston Square near London's Marble Arch. Also present on the night of the census were his wife, Annika Musurus, their four daughters, various members of the embassy's staff, including the ambassador's sons Stephen and Paul Musurus, and seven servants, including a valet, butler and two footmen, with another seven servants and a milliner next door at number 2.
