A carte-de-visite portrait of Master McGrath, the most famous hare coursing greyhound of the 19th century.
He won the Waterloo Cup in 1868, 1869 and again in 1871. He became such a celebrity that his owner, Lord Lurgan, was asked to take him to meet Queen Victoria. When he died of heart disease in 1871, he was found to have a heart almost twice the size of an average dog's.
