Miss Sophy Cole

From an album compiled in the 1860s by Augustus Gough-Calthorpe, 6th Baron Calthorpe. The sitter is identified as 'Miss Sophy [sic] Cole.' She is probably the daughter of Edward Henry Cole and was born in Ireland in 1836. Her mother was the Honourable Mary Letitia Parnell, daughter of the 1st Baron Congleton.

Photographed by Lieutenant-Colonel Alastair Fraser (1831-1885), an officer in the Scots Fusilier Guards and a talented amateur photographer; the portrait is dated 4 November 1860.
