Teddington Church

A topographical carte-de-visite showing a man in a top hat seated on one of the tombs in the churchyard of the parish church of St Mary's at Teddington in southwest Middlesex.

An inked inscription verso in a period identifies the location as 'Teddington Church and Churchyard' and gives the date, 30 March 1865. A short prayer follows, concluding 'Resume thy Spirit from this world of thrall into true Liberty'.

Gillo appears on the 1881 census living at 94 Fryern [sic] Street in Bridgwater with his wife and three-month-old son. Aged 40, he was born at Bath. For his profession, he gave 'Wholesale photographer / employing 4 male and 4 female assistants'.
